More generally known as breast augmentation, breast enhancement is the option many women turn to in order to improve their good looks and enlarge their breasts. The procedure as such, basically consists of the insertion of special silicon bags under the pectoral or the mammary gland; once in the right place, these bags also called prostheses are filled with a salty solution or saline. The immediate results of a breast enhancement operation are noticed as there will be a better contour and an expanded breast area.
However, besides the surgical breast enhancement methods, there are other means to have nice, larger breasts without necessarily turning to implants. This can be achieved by means of hormone treatments that stimulate the growth of the mammary gland. Mention should be made that such breast enhancement methods can be used only under strict medical observation and after running complete health tests, since the large quantity of hormones used to enlarge breasts may have severe side effects.
Hormone treatments for breast enhancement are not recommended to women who suffer from fluctuating blood pressure, phlebitis, cardiac rhythm disturbances and many more. So, in case you want to turn to this kind of breast enhancement treatment, you should know that a perfect health condition is a must, otherwise you just risk your life for the sake of good looks. One other alternative, many people turn to for breast enhancement is the use of herbal formulas for bust growth.
Maybe the results are not as spectacular as in the case of surgery, but the method is almost risk-free. Herbal breast enhancement formulas seem to work for large breasts that have lost their firmness and shape because of age or child birth; benefits show after a few months of administration when the mammal tissue turns firmer and smoother. Among the herbs used within the composition of the breast enhancement supplements we could mention: wild yam, holy thistle, dandelion root, mother wort or saw palmetto.
When starting a breast enhancement treatment it is normal to wonder how long it will take before you actually see results? Normally, herbal formulas require a larger period of administration, before the dimension changes, the first noticeable element will be more breast firmness and tissue regeneration. In the case of hormone breast enhancement methods, results will show sooner, even within a few weeks, the only problem is that you’ll have to make regular visits to the doctor to have your condition monitored all the time.

Allergies affect millions of people each year. An allergy to pet dander is one of the most common types. They can cause you to feel very uncomfortable. Symptoms include watery eyes, dry mouth, and itchy skin. More severe symptoms include hives, asthma attacks, and difficulty breathing. Ironically, a person can have a dog for a length of time without any symptoms. Then suddenly, they begin. It never crosses their mind that the dog is the allergen.
If you want to keep your dog, but reduce the effects it has on you, a HEPA filter might be beneficial. It removes particles from the air. This will reduce the amount of dander around your home. Vacuum your carpet daily and your curtains monthly. This will reduce the dander in your home as well. Some people believe washing their dog daily will fight dander. That is not true. In fact, the more you bathe your dog, the more dander will appear. You should only wash your dog about once a month. If these things don’t reduce your symptoms enough to make you comfortable, consult your doctor about allergy shots or medications.
If you already suffer from allergies, but want to get a dog, consider a breed that sheds their skin slowly including poodles and schnauzers. The breeds that shed their skin the fastest and should be avoided include cocker spaniels and basket hounds. You might also consider getting an outdoor dog. This will reduce the symptoms you feel while in your home.
If you have to give your dog to a good home because your allergies are out of control, thoroughly vacuum and shampoo carpets. Wash your curtains and walls. Remove any toys and bedding the dog had contact with. Your allergy symptoms may continue for up to 3 months after this has all been done.
Allergies from your dog can be a nuisance, but they can be controlled by following these simple tips to make your home more agreeable with your allergies. Feeding your dog quality dog food can also reduce dander particles because it keeps their coat shiny and healthy.

Most of the people who suffer from a form of acne do not talk about this disease because they are embarrassed. However, it is important to know that acne affects many people of both sexes. It is presumed that the gender does not affect the frequency of this disease, but the age does, as most of those who suffer from acne are at puberty. Cases of adult acne have been reported, too, although the risk to get acne decreases with the age.
The most frequent are that is affected by acne is the face. Body acne refers to the situation when acne has effect on the chest, back, shoulders and buttocks. Body acne is a chronic disease, fact that means that it lasts for a long period of time. It is characterized by swelling of the pores. The number of pores on a certain area of the body influences the probability to get acne. The areas that have a greater number of pores are at risk.
Scientists have not been able to pinpoint the precise causes of body acne, yet. However, they have established a series of factors that are known to influence the development of this chronic disease. These factors are perspiration, heavy bags that are carried over the shoulder or on the back, food and hormones. Clothes that are too tight may also cause irritations that lead eventually to acne. In some cases, acne is hereditary, which means that it gets transmitted from one generation to another.
Hormones represent one of the main factors that influence acne. The most frequent changes in hormone levels are observed during puberty, so acne is a common thing in this period. Women are more susceptible of getting body acne because of the abnormal male hormones levels that may increase. The male hormones, which are also known as androgens play a very important role in the production of sebum, or body oil.
Some measures must be taken in order to treat body acne or at least to stop it from developing. For example, after performing sports or other activities that implies intense physical effort, people are recommended to take a shower. By doing this, the perspiration, which is one of the factors that contributes to body acne, is removed. Other measures that are also related to hygiene involve cleaning the affected areas by washing them with a purifier. Medication based on benzoyl peroxide has also proved to be effective in the treatment of body acne.

What is acupuncture? It is a form of holistic healthcare that is used to prevent and treat certain diseases as well as relieve pain and anesthetize patients for surgery. Research shows that this began in China and has been practiced for more than 5,000 years.
The earliest account of this is found in the book called Nei Jing which in English means the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine. The contents of this book date somewhere around 200 BC. Back then, they did not use metal needles and instead used those made out of stone, moxibustion and herbs to treat a patient.
Acupuncture prevents and treats diseases by inserting very fine needles into the skin specifically at the anatomic points of the body.
The principle behind this concept is that illnesses occur because there is an imbalance in your life force otherwise known as Qi. It is believed that this flows in 14 channels in the human body known as meridians which branch out to bodily organs and functions. If there is a blockage or obstruction in any of them, this is when you succumb to a disease or an illness.
The imbalance in the Qi may go one way or the other because of Yin and Yang. The person can only be normal if there is harmony between the two which is what acupuncture is trying to achieve. This can only be restored by stimulating these acupuncture points so your Qi can be adjusted, balanced and harmonized.
Apart from using needles, practitioners also use friction, heat, impulses of electromagnetic energy and pressure to stimulate these points in order to balance the movement of energy in the body to reduce one’s health.
An example of this is sonopuncture where an ultrasound device that transmits sound waves is applied to these points in the body. Some use a tuning fork and other vibration devices.
Acupressure is another example and here, the fingers are used to relive the pain. This can be used by itself or with other manual healing techniques.
Impulses of electromagnetic energy are used because our bodies generate tiny but electrical discharges which influence the function, growth and maturity of certain types of cells. By inserting the needles in these areas, it stimulates and alters the neurotransmitters in the body thus making the patient feel better after treatment. This is also sometimes used for diagnosis and testing.
According to the World Health Organization or WHO, here is a list of some illnesses where acupuncture is used. These include acute bronchitis, the common cold, cataract, toothaches, gingivitis, hiccups, ulcers, constipation, diarrhea, headache and migraine, Meniere’s disease, osteoarthritis and a lot more. In the US, acupuncture is often used to treat chronic pain conditions and mind body disorders.
But acupuncture is not risk free. Hematoma may develop if the needle punctures a circulatory structure. It is also possible that pneumothorax may occur if the needle is inserted too deep. There is also the risk of HIV and hepatitis if the needle was not properly sterilized.
Now that you know what acupuncture is, you must not forget that it is merely an alternative and not a proper form of medical treatment. This means you should still be examined by a professional in the medical field who can determine the severity of your illness or disease.

The last few years have seen sweeping change in the medical field by way of the revolution in vision, LASIK eye surgery. Many people with vision problems get excited at the thought of corrective surgery. But just what is LASIK eye surgery?
Refractive errors in the cornea are corrected by lasers in LASIK surgery. The laser precisely controls the tearing of the corneal tissue, reshaping the cornea and changing its focus. LASIK surgery is a very simple two step process:
- A slight, thin flap of tissue is created on the outside layer of the eye or cornea. The flap helps heal and provide comfort on the way to better vision.
- The doctor then folds open the flap on the inner cornea to correct the vision. Finally, the flap is closed to its original position and sealed with stitches.
The word LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Sutu Keratomieusis, a process which reshapes the cornea to refract light in the lens. While LASIK surgery isn’t close to perfect, it is a very viable and increasingly safe surgery.
Improvements have been made by government regulations regarding the types of lasers allowed for the surgery. A good idea for those who are considering the surgery is to research the types of lasers used by local doctors during LASIK.
As improvements are made and doctors are regulated the cost of LASIK surgery continues to drop, making it a possibility for some who could only dream of such improvement a few years back. Some surgeries are referred to as “bladeless” or “custom” LASIK, meaning they are more efficient and tailored to the individual.
LASIK surgery is an exciting prospect to anyone who has suffered from vision problems in the past. However, much like buying a car or house, it is important to do your homework first.

Cats are one of the most beloved pets in the world. For some who enjoy the company of a cat, the allergic reaction they get from them is too much to handle. They symptoms of such allergies include itchy skin, red and dry eyes, nasal congestion, sneezing, and difficulty breathing. However, if your allergies didn’t arise until after you had your cat for awhile, it can be very difficult to have to give it away.
There are several things you can do to make your allergy symptoms lessen so you will be able to keep your cat. The allergen is the dander from the cat that compiles around your house in the bedding, curtains, and on the furniture. Since most of us spend at least 6 hours per night in our bed, it only makes sense to stop letting your cat on your bed. This will eliminate pet dander while you are resting. It is also recommended that you shower before bed to remove any pet dander that may be on you before getting into bed. You may want to take it a step further, to not allow your cat in your bedroom at all. This will offer you a safe retreat when your allergy symptoms are flaring up.
If you have cat allergies, change your bedding weekly. Vacuum your carpets daily, and wash your curtains at least once a month. These things will all greatly remove the amount of dander in your home. Your vacuum should have a HEPA filter for best results.
It is always recommended to wash your hands after handling any pet. It is even more important if you have allergies. Simply touching your cat, then your face can leave you with an uncomfortable evening ahead. Use a micro fiber cloth to stroke your cat. This will eliminate more dander than a bath, and it is easier. If you still have trouble controlling your symptoms, seclude your cats to one area of the house.
Keeping yourself healthy is the important thing, but hanging on to your cat is also important. Following the basic steps listed here as well as talking to your doctor about allergy shots and medications should allow you to feel good and keep that beloved feline.

Jennifer, a middle-aged single mother with one six-year-old daughter, has been skipping sweets for a few weeks now. She’s also become a stickler for portion control. She feels as if she’s eating less than ever, and she’s been diligently exercising for an hour at a time at least four days a week. Yet, she hasn’t lost a single pound. The question is, “Why?”
This is a dilemma which affects dieters the world over. They think they are taking the steps necessary to lose weight, but nothing seems to be happening. In essence, they are trapped in a dieting rut and they don’t know how to free themselves. As a result, they become frustrated and depressed and may then engage in binge eating.
One of the problems with diets is that they are often standardized. As a result, they don’t take into consideration your individual physiology and metabolism. They provide a cookie-cutter approach to weight loss—an approach which may not work in your individual case. As a result, an increasing number of people are turning to dieticians to formulate a person weight loss strategy for them. This process has been made easier through the Internet, where you can correspond with a dietician any time of the day or night via e-mail. The dietician can also act as your personal coach, helping you through your dieting dilemmas.
Another reason that you may be failing at your diet is because of a lack of support. You may have family members who can eat whatever they want and seemingly not gain a pound. As a result, they may fill your refrigerator with junk food, leading you into temptation. Also, you may feel as if you have no one to turn to in order to discuss your weight problems. In order to solve this problem, many individuals look to psychotherapists to help them with their food-related issues. This can be particularly important if an individual has turned to purging in an effort to combat their weight problems. Bulimia is a serious disease which must be treated in order to ensure the good health of the patient. Thankfully, there are a number of treatment programs throughout the U.S. specifically focusing on bulimia.
Yet another reason for diet failure is hidden calories. You may literally be consuming calories and not even realize it. For instance, the frappucinos that are so popular today are loaded with calories—as many as 600 in a single serving! You may also be indulging in sugary sodas—another source of extra calories. By taking a few simple steps, such as eliminating the exotic coffee drinks from your diet and substituting skim milk for whole milk, you may be able to eliminate the hidden calories that are denying you dieting success.
Lack of consistency can also be a diet-killer. You might go on a diet for a while, then quit before you’ve made any measurable progress. It’s only natural to want to see quick results. The problem is that healthy weight loss involves losing only a couple of pounds a week. That means you’ll have to stay on your diet for months before you see appreciable weight loss. Discouraging? It can be, but if you keep a positive attitude you can achieve your ideal weight.
You may also be more successful in your dieting if you consider it to be a lifestyle change. Therefore, your diet becomes a meal plan for life. This means that you must change the way you look at food. It is designed to be fuel for your body, and nothing more. As a result, you should not turn to food to make you feel better or to provide you with a sense of comfort. A lifestyle change implies commitment; it means that you are prepared to follow the plan for the long haul. If you feel as if you cannot be on your diet for any appreciable length of time, perhaps it’s time to consider a different diet. Your aim ultimately should be not simply to lose weight, but to become healthier. A fad diet will not allow you to reach that milestone. Therefore, you must choose your diet carefully.

There are a ton of hair loss products on the internet available to any buyer or interested consumer out there. With the tremendous amount of products available it can be very confusing as to just what claims to do what and what actually does what. Considering the following short descriptions of hair loss products before making a decision as to what you want to try to change your personal appearance.
FAST Shampoo & Conditioner – This product is an acronym for Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy, meaning it increases hair growth speed by 45%. This may not be the ideal hair loss product for balding men, but it doesn’t hurt to give the product a chance in a desperate situation.
Hair Loss Pills – This product was developed by doctors in hopes of finding the cure to hair loss for both men and women. It is an extremely easy hair loss product to get started using and continue using due to its ease of use with just three pills a day being taken.
Hair Loss Treatments – Products like Rogaine and Propecia are a full fledged hair loss treatment with a schedule of use to attempt to achieve a desired effect with one’s hair. Shampoos, conditioners, and pills offer a hair loss product that isn’t used as much, but does offer a particular advantage.
DHT Blockers & Inhibitors – DHT blockers or inhibitors are products that attempt to reduce or decrease the growth of a particular follicle to help grow hair. By stimulating hair growth through the blocking of specific receptors this hair loss product can be reasonably successful.
The important idea to remember when using any of these hair loss products is that there is no guaranteed, tried and true, safe product on the market today. There are many products that will claim the same things, but every head of hair is different and responds to different stimulants.

Here’s a brief look at the history of birth control. Although pills are very much in demand to avoid getting pregnant for women, these are also causing quite a stir.
The reason for this is because birth control pills are known for one side effect. More and more women are complaining that the pills cause them to gain weight. For the ladies who use the pill just to avoid the risk of pregnancy, this is definitely not a good news.
When a woman gains weight because of the pills, it causes her to look at the other options. But not everybody is affected of this kind of side effect. Some women don’t have weight issues regarding the use of birth control pills.
But for the women who are prone to such effect, there are other forms of birth control that they can choose to use. They can go the natural way or the rhythm method. This is where the partners will become involved in a sexual act only when the female is not fertile.
There are methods that are being injected and inserted to the women’s genitals to obtain same effect as the pills. And among the popular ones is through the use of condoms. Nowadays, both men and women have condoms suited for their private parts.
The oldest form of birth control can be the sexual abstinence. But aside from it, the withdrawal effect can also be considered as one.
Coined as the coitus interruptus, this means that the penis of a man will withdraw from the woman’s genitals before the ejaculation. This prevents him from transmitting into the lady or his partner any vital sperm that may cause pregnancy. But this requires a lot of self control on the part of men.
It was also believed that Egyptian women have used suppository for their vaginas on old ages. The term for this type is pessary. This contains oil and other lubricants that will kill the sperm once the woman becomes involved in a sexual act.
The equivalent of today’s female condoms at the time is a cervical cap for Asian women. This is like oiled paper. And for the same goal, Europeans have used beeswax. It was not until the 17th century that a condom was invented. When it was first introduced, it wasn’t as popular as today. And it was intended not only to avoid the risk of pregnancy but also to avoid acquiring sexually transmitted disease like syphilis.
Throughout human history, there are various abortifacients that have been used. But the effects vary and those that were proven effective caused a lot of side effects. In the developing years, the herbal medium was used to act as a contraceptive.
The 20th century introduced the rhythm method or the natural way. It is still being applied today and can be as effective as the birth control pills but will also require a lot of control from both concerning partners.
In 1960, the FDA approved the pill that is now known as birth control. It was in 1972 that the pill became available for married ladies and singles ones who are over the age of 21. This was part of the 26th Amendment.
This brief history of birth control shows you its popularity through time. Although, it is also known to cause added weight, people rely on one or two types in hopes of not risking getting their partners pregnant at the time that they are still not ready for it.

Rosacea represents a health condition that affects the skin. It is commonly referred as acne rosacea, although these two diseases are different. Acne rosacea is a chronic health condition, just like acne. This means that it lasts for prolonged periods of time and that it can lead to serious complications if left untreated.
This chronic disease is characterized by irritation and redness of the skin. The effect of acne rosacea is observed on the face, most frequently. The redness appears as a result of the swelling of blood vessels.
It has been concluded that acne rosacea affects women, rather than men. In fact, out of all the people who suffer from acne rosacea, nearly 75% are women. On the other hand, men experience more serious forms of this chronic skin disease. People who have a sensible skin are at risk more than the others. In addition, it has been determined that people with fair skin, blond hair and blue eyes have greater chances to contract acne rosacea. However, it is very important to know that anyone is susceptible to acne rosacea at a moment in life. According to some statistical data, 14 million Americans suffer from this long-term skin condition.
In persons who have acne rosacea, the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead are redder than usual. Another symptom that helps doctors to perform the diagnosis easily is the fact that the tiny blood vessels found on the face become noticeable. Bumps may also be observed on the face of the persons who suffer from acne rosacea. Not at last, watery eyes also represent a sign that a person may have this health condition. In fact, the eyes are affected in half of the cases of acne rosacea.
It is not an uncommon thing for people who have this chronic skin disease to also have benign skin cancer. The connection between these two health conditions is not very clear. This is why scientists continue to study it, in order to determine which skin disease causes the other.
Acne rosacea, as most of the forms of acne, is influenced by the food the person consumes. In conclusion, people who suffer from this skin disease are recommended to keep a journal where the foods are written. This way, people are able to tell which foods determine the symptoms to get worse and which foods have benefic effects.
The treatment that is used in acne rosacea does not differ from the one used for the other forms of acne. Therefore, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur lotions and azelaic acid are among the medications that prove to be effective in this case, too.
